Administrator / Receptionist GP Practice

Job summary

We are seeking an Administrator to join our practice of 9200+ patients.

37.5 hours per week and must be available for afternoon shifts. This is a part remote working role.

Administrators work is between the hours of 09:00 to 17:00 Monday to Friday. The successful candidate will need to be hard-working, flexible and enthusiastic. We are looking for a capable individual who is able to multi-task and work well under pressure. Be able to work in a fast-paced environment independently, accurately and reliably.

Applicant MUST have Emis Web software experience.

You must have your covid vaccines to join as a member of the practice.

Main duties of the job

  • Providing comprehensive administrative support to the team and ensuring the smooth day-to-day running of the service.
  • Managing ereferrals and eRS worklist
  • Managing appointments, meetings, diaries, and correspondence, including preparing documents and taking minutes where required.
  • Maintaining accurate patient records and updating electronic databases while ensuring confidentiality.
  • Handling telephone and email enquiries professionally and acting as a first point of contact for patients, staff, and external organisations.
  • Processing referrals, filing documents, and supporting the coordination of clinical and administrative activities.
  • Dealing with patient registrations on emis.
  • Working closely with the multidisciplinary team to ensure an efficient, high-quality service for patients.
  • EMIS & eRS experience is essential.

    We are a well-established training practice in a purpose built (newly refurbished) premises, located on the Haringey Green lanes.

    The practice's aim is to provide our patients with an excellent standard of patient-centered care, with clinicians and patients jointly involved in all aspects of planning and delivering care to meet patients' health and well-being needs.

    You will work with colleagues including a team of GPs, practice Nurse, Healthcare Assistant, Clinical Pharmacist, Physician Associate & MSK practitioner, administrative staff and a wide variety of other health professionals.

    The practice is working in a hybrid model which allows the flexibility of working from home.

    There is free parking available on site.

    The successful candidate will provide high-quality administrative and reception support within a busy GP practice and play a key role in the smooth day-to-day running of the service. Working closely with the Practice Manager and multidisciplinary team, responsibilities will include processing referrals, eRS worklist and correspondence, screening and coding clinical documents, managing docman document workflows, maintaining accurate patient records, and liaising with hospitals, clinicians and other healthcare professionals.

    The post holder will support and cover reception staff, assist with staff induction and training, and monitor administrative processes to ensure efficiency and compliance.
