Job type: Fixed Term contract 9 months
Salary: £16.24 per hour* (paid monthly) + paid overtime available.
Working hours: 37 hours per week – working 5 days in 7 across Monday - Sunday – 06:00/20:30
There are two shift patterns with this role: 0600-1530 or 1200-2030, more details will be given at interview

You’ll work on a rotating shift schedule, including some weekends. Your rota will confirm your hours and delivery routes, which may vary based on demand.
You’ll be required to work Sundays on a rota basis between the hours od 1100-1930

What to expect
This role is physically demanding and fast-paced:
- Walking long distances (up to 12 miles / 20,000+ steps)
- Driving a Royal Mail van daily
- Working in all weather conditions
- Delivering letters and high volumes of parcels
- Busy, time-pressured days, especially during peak periods
About you
We’ll provide full training, a uniform, and an iconic red van. You’ll need:
- A full manual UK driving licence (maximum 6 penalty points, registered to your current name and address)
- Willingness to drive a Royal Mail van daily and able to pass a driving assessment
- Physically fit and comfortable walking long distances, climbing stairs / hills, and lifting / carrying 10kg+ mailbags
