Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Okta Engineer to support identity and access management (IAM) initiatives for a DHS environment. The engineer will design, implement, configure, and maintain Okta-based identity solutions while ensuring compliance with federal security requirements.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, configure, and administer Okta Identity Cloud and IAM solutions.
  • Manage SSO, MFA, Adaptive MFA, Universal Directory, and Lifecycle Management.
  • Configure SAML, OAuth 2.0, OIDC, and SCIM integrations.
  • Integrate Okta with enterprise and federal applications.
  • Support user provisioning, de-provisioning, and access workflows.
  • Troubleshoot authentication, federation, and access-related issues.
  • Develop and maintain Okta Workflows and automation.
  • Implement IAM solutions aligned with Zero Trust, NIST, and federal security requirements.
  • Support security audits, documentation, and compliance activities.
  • Collaborate with cybersecurity, infrastructure, application, and DevOps teams.

Required Skills

  • 5+ years of experience in IAM/Okta engineering.
  • Strong hands‐on experience with Okta administration and implementation.
  • Experience with SAML, OAuth, OIDC, SCIM, REST APIs, and federation.
  • Strong knowledge of Active Directory/Azure AD (Entra ID).
  • Experience with MFA, SSO, RBAC, provisioning, and identity lifecycle management.
  • Experience with scripting/automation using PowerShell, Python, or similar.
  • Understanding of Zero Trust and NIST security frameworks.
  • Excellent troubleshooting and documentation skills.
  • Active DHS clearance required.

Preferred

  • Federal/DHS environment experience.
  • Experience with Okta Workforce Identity.
  • Okta certification such as Okta Certified Professional/Administrator.
  • Experience with ServiceNow, Splunk, AWS/Azure, or CI/CD environments.
  • Knowledge of FedRAMP, FISMA, NIST 800-53, and federal IAM controls.
